LET ME GUESS...
Treatment ended and you expected to be celebrating and "back to normal" within weeks? Instead you feel like you've been hit by a train...and nobody seems to understand!
You don't have to carry recovery alone anymore.
What if this October wasn't
about pushing through or hiding until all the pink has gone?
What if it was about carrying less, and feeling lighter?
Not fixing yourself or trying to become someone different. Not trying harder.
Just...
Putting a little of the weight down.
Imagine...
-
Sitting outside with your morning coffee...and actually noticing the birds instead of mentally planning the rest of the day.
-
Resting...without spending the next hour feeling guilty.
-
Walking into your next follow-up appointment...without it stealing the entire week before.
-
Noticing a new ache. You pause. You take a breath...and your mind doesn't immediately race to the worst-case scenario.
Those moments may seem ordinary.
But after everything you've been through...
They're extraordinary.
Because they don't feel like effort.
They feel like...
Relief. And relief changes everything.
WELCOME TO...
Lighten the LOADâ˘
For four weeks...
We'll gently begin putting down what survival asked you to carry.
Not through pressure or perfection.
Not through another list of things you "should" be doing.
We'll do it together. One gentle step at a time.
How would you feel if you climbed into bed...and instead of replaying every conversation...
every decision...everything you forgot to do...you simply fell asleep?
Â
Thanks to Karin and Lighten the LOAD...
"I now realize that I've been worrying like it 's my job AND that I don't have to keep doing that!"
Â
Â
Hey I'm Karin,
Â
For years...I thought recovery meant trying harder.
Eating better.
Exercising more.
Finding the "right" supplements.
Doing everything I could to stay healthy.
And every time I couldn't keep it all going...
I quietly wondered, "What's wrong with me?"
Then I realized something.
We've been taught recovery in the wrong order.
Â
Â
Â
Most recovery advice asks,Â
"What should you do next?"
Â
I think a better question is...
"What have you been carrying?"
Because after breast cancer, you're often carrying so much that no one else can see.
đ The fear that never seems to switch off.
đ The pressure to get back to normal.
đ The guilt when you need to rest.
đ The responsibility of holding everything together.
đ The little voice that whispers,
"You should be doing more."
Â
No wonder everything feels harder than it should.
Not because you're failing.
Because you've been carrying a load that was never meant to be carried forever.
Â
And here's the good news:
You don't have to empty the whole backpack.
You don't have to fix everything.
And you definitely don't have to âjust let it go.â
Inside Lighten the LOADâ˘, we do something much gentler.
đ We see it.
Because you can't put down a brick you don't know you're carrying.
Sometimes it's obvious. Sometimes it's something you've been doing for so long that you didn't even realize you had a choice.
đ We sort it.
What's actually yours to carry?
What belongs to someone else?
What are you carrying because you genuinely choose to...and what are you carrying because guilt, fear, habit or âbut I could do itâ keeps picking it back up?
đ Then we safely put something down.
Not everything.
Something.
One request. One responsibility. One decision.
One brick you've been carrying that maybe doesn't need to come with you anymore.
Because the goal isn't to become even stronger at carrying a heavy life.
It's to create more room for the life you fought so hard to keep.
Â
That's why I created Lighten the LOADâ˘
Not to give you more to do.
And definitely not to make you better at carrying everything you already are.
But to help create a little more room for you again.
Until you start noticing the small things...
You finish dinner and still have enough left in you for that short walk you keep promising yourself.
Your phone rings and you don't automatically assume you have to fix whatever is waiting on the other end.
You take an afternoon off without spending half of it thinking about what you should be doing.
You laugh with someone you love and realize, for a few minutes, you weren't thinking about cancer, work, your family, or the next thing that needs handling.
Your shoulders aren't permanently somewhere near your ears.
That "stress vest" around your rib cage starts to loosen.
And somewhere in the middle of ordinary life, you catch yourself thinking...
Â
"Oh... there I am."
I'm starting to feel more like myself again.
That's the journey we'll take together this October.
HERE'SÂ THE DETAILS...
I know that youÂ

Every week...
We'll put down one more thing survival taught you to carry.
Why these four weeks?
Â
These aren't four random topics.
They're four of the biggest invisible loads I've watched women carry after breast cancer over the past six years.
Every week, we'll gently put down one more thing that life & survival taught you to carry.
WEEK 1 - WHAT AM I CARRYING THAT I DON'T HAVE TO?
Just because you can carry something doesn't mean you have to.
Being the one who fixes it. Keeping everyone happy. Saying yes because you could help. Being the strong one because you've always been the strong one.
Some things have been in your backpack for so long, you may not even realize putting them down is an option.
We'll start sorting what's yours to carry...and what isn't.
Â
WEEK 2 - WHAT AM I DOING ON AUTOPILOT?
Sometimes you've said yes before you've even had time to think.
You fix it. Handle it. Keep the peace. Push through.
Not because it's what you want, but because it's what you've always done.
This week, we'll start noticing those automatic reactions and create a little more space to pause and choose what actually works for you.
WEEK 3 - WHAT'S TAKING UP SO MUCH SPACE IN MY HEAD?
If your brain feels like there are 4,367 tabs open...you're not alone.
Imagine walking into the grocery store...and remembering why you're there.
Finishing a movie...and realizing you actually followed the story.
Reading a few pages of a book...without having to start over.
Those moments may seem small. But when your brain has felt full for so long...they're anything but.
This week, we'll look at what's still taking up space in your head and start closing a few of those tabs.
WEEK 4 - WHO'S GOT THE MICROPHONE?
Maybe that voice has been there long before cancer.
"You should be doing more."
"You should be more disciplined."
"Why can't you get it together?"
"You should be further along by now."
After a while, you don't even question it. You just believe it.
This week, we'll notice who's been holding the microphone and start turning up the volume on a voice that's a whole lot kinder to you.
âLighten the LOAD⢠helped me realize that itâs okay to start putting down some of the things that arenât my responsibility, without feeling bad.
I also realized that even before cancer, I was carrying too much.â
â Lighten the LOAD⢠participant
You might recognize yourself here...
- You finally sit down...and within seconds you're thinking about six other things you should be doing.
- You walk into a room...and can't remember why.
- Someone says, "You look amazing!"...and you smile because it's easier than explaining how hard today has actually been.
- You notice a new ache...and your thoughts immediately go somewhere you wish they didn't.
- You wake up determined to have a good day...and by lunchtime you're wondering where your energy went.
- You cancel lunch with a friend because you're too tired to explain why you're tired.
- You can't remember the last time your mind felt quiet.
- You feel guilty resting.
- You feel guilty saying no.
- You feel guilty that you're not "back to normal".
- Sometimes...you quietly wonder..."Is this just my life now?"
Â
If you found yourself whispering...
"That's me."
I'd love to spend October helping you carry a little less.
SOME MORE RELIEF MOMENTS...
I'MÂ NOT AS MEAN TO MYSELF
"I hear myself talking kinder to myself now... Where I used to hear Karin calming me down, now I hear me."
JEANNE W. - CT
I'M NOT BROKEN
"I finally understand why I react the way I do. It's such a relief to realize that I'm not broken."
A.K. - CA
I'MÂ NOT PUSHING THROUGH ANYMORE
"I'm finally listening to myself instead of just pushing through and abandoning myself."
B.C. - FLÂ
"I'M SO RELIEVED THERE'S A REASON I FEEL LIKE THIS"
I'm ready to feel lighter today
I'M INBy November...
What if something inside you has shifted?
You drink your coffee while it's still hot.
You laugh more easily.
You rest without apologizing.
You notice beauty again.
You trust yourself a little more.
You breathe a little deeper.
You carry a little less.
And one day...
Without even realizing it...
You catch yourself thinking...
Â
"I feel more like me again."
Â
Imagine a life where cancer is part of your story...not the thing that's still running it.Â
Let's begin putting some of it down.
Together.
