Hey there, friend!

If you're anything like me, after finishing cancer treatment, you've probably had moments where healthy eating felt like just another mountain to climb.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the new advice, the conflicting information, and the sheer number of “must-try” diets out there.

But here’s a little secret: healthy eating doesn’t have to be as hard as it seems. With a bit of creativity and a sprinkle of patience, and a proven plan you can make it both easier and a lot more enjoyable.

Let me share a story with you...

After my breast cancer diagnosis, I was committed to making a profound change in my life. I had always tried to live healthily—eating well, exercising regularly, and reducing toxins in our home.

But deep down, I knew there was more I could do.

When I received my diagnosis, along with the BRCA2 genetic mutation that made me high risk for breast cancer, I faced a pivotal moment. Instead of asking, "Why did I get breast cancer?" I shifted my focus to "Why now?"

After all, I'd had the mutation for years, so what had changed in the recent past?

The answer was clear: the immense trauma and stress I had experienced in the 12 months leading up to my diagnosis. My life was filled with significant challenges—losing my mum, my brother's near-death experience, and my husband's severe motorcycle accident.

The weight of these events had created a perfect storm of stress and emotional turmoil.

Recognizing the impact of stress on my health, I was determined to create a lifestyle that truly nurtured my well-being.

This journey led me to develop a deeper understanding of how to manage stress, prioritize self-care, and make healthful choices that go beyond the basics.

This is why I created the Resilient Routines program—a gentle guide for those who want to transform not just their eating habits...but reduce their stress levels, improve their health and well-being, and create sustainable habits that withstand this crazy roller-coaster of life (and recovery).

So...

  • if you feel like you're drowning in a sea of complex recipes, new cooking gadgets, and well-meaning advice that seems more like pressure than support...
  • or you're trying to follow an elaborate meal plan that you found online...
  • or keep reading that you "should" go vegetarian but in your heart...just don't want to give up your juicy burger...
  • don't have the energy or motivation to spend hours shopping for ingredients you've never heard of, only to find that you don't even like half of them!

Then you might be feeling frustrated and disheartened, convinced that maybe healthy eating just isn't for you...but there's that nagging voice in the back of your head that says "you know should be eating healthier now!"

But this is what I need you know...this whole eating healthier thing doesn't have to be so complicated or stressful.

What if we could...

  1. simplify it, make it fit into your life without feeling like a constant struggle?
  2. find ways to enjoy eating healthy without turning it into a part-time job?
  3. eat healthier and still enjoy your fave treat without feeling guilty?

Let's take a peek at... 3 Tips to Make Healthy Eating Easier:

  1. Start with Small Changes:

Okay, picture this: you’re at the grocery store, and you’re tempted by that familiar, comforting snack. Instead of trying to completely cut it out, why not swap it for a healthier option?

Maybe you replace those chips with some crunchy carrots and hummus or opt for a piece of fruit instead of a sugary treat.

These small changes can make a big difference over time. It’s like giving your diet a little upgrade without completely overhauling it. And trust me, you’ll get used to these healthier swaps more quickly than you think.

  1. Plan and Prep:

I can’t stress this enough: planning is your best friend. It doesn’t have to be a military operation—just a simple plan to help you stay on track.

Set aside a bit of time each week to plan your meals and snacks. It could be as simple as jotting down a few meal ideas and making a quick shopping list.

And here’s a pro tip: prep some of your ingredients ahead of time. Chop veggies, cook grains, or even portion out snacks. This way, when you’re hungry and in a rush, you’ll have healthy options ready to go.

It’s like setting yourself up for success without even trying too hard!

  1. Focus on Progress, Not Perfection:

This is probably my favorite tip. Healthy eating doesn’t mean you have to be perfect. Life happens, and sometimes you’ll have a slice of cake or a bowl of ice cream—and that’s okay!

What matters is finding a balance that works for you. It’s about making more of those nourishing choices while still enjoying the things you love.

Think of it as a dance between healthy choices and indulgence, where both can coexist without guilt. Embrace the journey and remember, it’s about progress, not perfection.

So, my friend, here’s the scoop: making healthy eating part of your life doesn’t have to be a Herculean task.

It’s about taking it one step at a time, finding what works for you, and making the process as enjoyable as possible.
