5 Simple Ways to Start Reducing Toxins
Environmental toxins - the often unavoidable chemicals that we all encounter in our normal, everyday lives, and if left unchecked, can lead to major serious diseases, including breast cancer.
When we know that ONLY 15% OF BREAST CANCER DIAGNOSIS ARE DUE TO GENETICS, THAT MEANS THAT 85% ARE DUE TO ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS.
This is great news!!!
Why?
Because that means that you can do something about lowering your risk for breast cancer, it's recurrence, and other serious diseases!
You may be wondering if this is even relevant to you, how do you even know if toxins are affecting your health and your body?
That's a great question!
You may be experiencing one or many of the following:
- Weight Gain
- Chronic Fatigue

These hidden harmful chemicals can lead to:

- AND MANY MORE CHRONIC & SERIOUS HEALTH CONDITIONS!
It's crazy to imagine that chemicals found in these everyday products below can have such major effects on our health!!
- Beauty, hair-care, & skincare products
- Mold in your home & buildings
- Household cleaners
- Food & beverages
- Prescription & OTC drugs
- Product packaging
- And more!
Phew! I know that all of this can feel so overwhelming, I get it! I want you to know, that even as a Health Coach, I DID NOT make all of my shifts to reduce these toxins in one go...in fact, some of them I didn't make until after my breast cancer diagnosis.
So, my tip is to make these shifts as you feel ready, tackling one area at a time and know I'm here to guide you step-by-step through the entire process, because I want you to feel great and not be bogged down my these harmful toxins and certainly not get a scary diagnosis, like breast cancer!
Let's start here, with 5 Simple Ways To Start Reducing Toxins (I've even made you a cheat sheet so that you can refer back to it - GRAB YOUR CHEAT SHEET HERE).
1. CLEAN THE GREEN WAY
Most conventional cleaning supplies contain health-impacting chemicals. These supplies include - but are not limited to - conventional dish soaps, laundry detergents, fabric softeners, bathroom and kitchen cleaners, glass cleaners, furniture polish, carpet and floor cleaners, and disinfectants.
REDUCED TOXINS: Replace these products with those labeled non-toxic, especially those with plant-based ingredients, or make your own.

2. SAY NO TO NON-STICK COOKWARE
The chemical compound used to make Teflon (and many other non-stick brands) can be very difficult for the body to eliminate.
REDUCED TOXINS: Try cast iron, stainless steel, or non-toxic ceramic.
3. BEAUTIFY NATURALLY
Your skin is your biggest organ. It allows waste products out and toxins in, especially if you slather them all over yourself. The last major law passed to regulate our skin care, make-up, shampoo etc was in 1938! Since that time, as you can imagine tens of thousands of chemicals are now used, that weren't even around at that time, and they have NOT been tested for human safety.

4. STOP EATING YOUR TOXINS
Pesticides - linked to everything from cancer to birth defects. BUY ORGANIC IF POSSIBLE.
GMO's - found in approx. 70% of processed foods with corn, soy, cottonseed, canola & sugar.
Nitrates - these are chemicals added to processed foods to give color & prolong shelf-life & can increase your risk of cancer.
Additives - linked to many serious health problems.

5. GO PLASTIC FREE
BPA, BPS, BPF are found in plastic food containers & bottles. They are endocrine (hormone) disrupting chemicals that have been associated with thyroid & reproductive problems, obesity, heart disease and increased risks of cancer.
PET is used to make plastic bottles & other food & beverage containers that have a recycling symbol #1, also an endocrine disrupting chemical.
REDUCED TOXINS: Use glass or stainless steel water bottles.
As I shared before, looking at one small shift is a step in the right direction...and each step is you choosing to live a healthier life. Pretty cool, right?
No need to try to remember all of this information, I have put together a cheat sheet for you, so that you can take these shifts at your pace.
